Launch Your Website Like a Pro
When developing a quality website, there are many important things one has to consider besides the content and design elements. Double checking everything on your website to ensure all is well is something all webmasters should do before they launch. It’ll not only help you get a better performance out of your site, but will also ensure that you set up a strong foundation for the traffic that’s about to come in.
Try to ask others for their honest opinion of your website during pre-launch. Often times in our quest to construct the perfect site, we get a little sidetracked to the point that our opinion becomes a bit foggy no matter how knowledgeable we are. It’s important to show your website to people you know and trust to get a third party opinion. This will help you broaden your own view and incorporate elements that you wouldn’t do otherwise. It just makes good business sense to get positive and negative feedback from those you trust since your site should be built with your visitor’s in mind.
Create a link for your website’s RSS feed so that your readers can easily subscribe to your website. These days, RSS feeds are used by everyone and are good for your visitors to subscribe and keep up with the things that are happening on your site. The RSS feed for your website should be in a place that your prospects can clearly see it. The easiest thing to do these days is to just put a small RSS icon in the address bar of the browser.
The easier you make it for your visitors to subscribe to your RSS feed, the better things will be.
A lot of times, if someone wants to print something from your site, they are most likely only interested in the article itself and not in the navigational menu or other design aspects. So, the use of print style sheets is highly recommended. It’s going to give your visitor the convenience of only printing what they want to print and nothing else. Even-though you may classify this step as low priority, why not add something that will make things more convenient for your visitors. Overall, how your website performs and what kind of results it gives depends on many different factors. Don’t worry, you probably won’t get everything right on launch day regardless of how much evaluation you do. But that doesn’t mean you simply take it easy and let your site launch in whatever condition it is. Don’t think your work is done after you launch your site because it will require just as much effort after-wards to achieve the greatest conversions and sales.
