Anyone who is familiar with the AR Drone knows that currently, there is a limitation to playing or enjoying this highly advanced toy. Only individuals with an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad can play this game because only these gadgets support the applications and softwares necessary to control the quadricopter. Well, for people who don’t own Apple products, there’s good news for you regarding the AR Drone.

Soon, the toy will no longer be exclusively played with using only these Macintosh products. Parrot, the company producing AR Drones, is working with Android developers to allow their application to be suitable with their product. They (Parrot) have already released a public SDK that allows developers to come up with applications that would be compatible with other devices using various platforms. Android is one of these developers that are coming up with an application that could connect, send commands and control the AR Drone. We’re not sure if there would be any kind of software or application created by these developers to accommodate AR Pursuit on other devices but for now, having to connect with the gadget using devices other than Macintosh products would suffice.

This is great news for people who prefer to use other phones or gadgets. People who prefer to own phones that support other softwares and applications will soon be able to enjoy and experience the fun and exciting item. This will surely increase the popularity of the Parrot AR Drone since more people will be able to use it.

If there’s one thing to anticipate during the next few months or within the next year, then that would be the launch of the Android application that supports the applications for the AR Drone. We’re sure that a lot of techie people are looking forward to the release of AR Drone Android.
